Alderman Garnholz introduced Bill No. 6587, an Ordinance Authorizing an Agreement Granting to Centurylink Communications, LLC, a License to Construct, Operate, Maintain and Replace Communication Transmission Lines In and Upon Public Roads and Rights of Way in the City of Clayton, Missouri; Providing for the Regulation of the License So Granted; and Providing for Compensation to the City of Clayton for the Grant Thereof; and, Authorizing an Agreement Between the City and the School District of Clayton Relative to the Use of Certain Communication Transmission Lines Provided to the City By Centurylink Communications LLC and Located within the City’s Rights of Way to be read for the second time by title only. Attached are those agreements. Recommendation is to approve the attached ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with CenturyLink for a license for transmission lines in the right of way and for the City’s right to use fiber optic connections provided through CenturyLink, and an agreement with the School District of Clayton to share in the fiber optic connections.
