Terms of Use

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Actalux (the "service") is operated by Actalux LLC. By using the site you agree to these terms.

What Actalux is

Actalux is an independent, nonpartisan, citation-first archive of public records for public bodies in Clayton, Missouri. It is operated by Actalux LLC, a limited liability company — not a nonprofit or 501(c)(3). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of any government body.

Not the official record

The authoritative record of any government body is the record that body maintains. Actalux gathers and republishes public records but does not claim completeness, and some material — notably machine-generated meeting transcripts — may contain errors. Treat Actalux as a finding aid and verify anything consequential against the official source.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing on Actalux is legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Actalux LLC is not liable for any damages arising from use of, or reliance on, the service or its content.

Acceptable use

You may read, search, cite, and share the records. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service, and do not use it to harass any individual or to misrepresent the records.

Corrections

If you find an error, use the "Report an error" link on any page and include the quote ID so we can locate the passage. We review reports and track them publicly.

Intellectual property and licensing

The underlying public records are public. The Actalux software is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1: non-production use (reading, evaluation, development, and testing) is free, any production use requires a license from Actalux LLC, and each released version converts to the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0-or-later four years after its release. See the license for details.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri.
