APPOINTMENT OF CRAIG H. SMITH AS MUNICIPAL PROSECUTOR
City Manager Gipson reported that a panel consisting of Police Chief Mark Smith, Director of Planning and Development Services Anna Krane, Clayton resident and attorney Anna Etzkorn, and I interviewed both candidates on June 26, 2023. Following the interviews and deliberation, the panel unanimously recommended the selection of Craig Smith for the position.

Motion made by Alderman Berkowitz to approve the appointment of Craig H. Smith as the City of Clayton Prosecuting Attorney. Alderman McAndrew seconded.
The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
APPOINTMENT OF MUNICIPAL JUDGE
Alderman Berkowitz reported that on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, the Municipal Judge Selection Panel members - Judge Michael Jamison, Attorney William Wallace, Shantay Bolton, Clayton Equity Commission, and himself engaged in interviews with three candidates.
On Friday, June 23, 2023, the Panel met to discuss, evaluate, and make its recommendation to the Board. The Panel has recommended Stephen M. Strum to be appointed as Judge of the Clayton Municipal Court for the upcoming term.
Motion made by Alderman Berkowitz to appoint Stephen M. Strum as the Municipal Judge for the City of Clayton. Alderman McAndrew seconded.
The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.

Alderman Berkowitz reported on the following: • Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) o reviewed the proposed Special Business District FY2024. o recommended allocating monies for events and entertainment venues.
