School District of Clayton Second Reading of Policy | Action Required Board of Education
Revision to Policy KB – Public Information Program January 21, 2026 Summary Policy is how a board sustainably exercises its authority to govern. Through policy, school boards establish cohesive guidelines to advance vision into reality. Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) provides policy services to the School District of Clayton. Periodically, MSBA recommends policy revisions due to legislative changes at the State and Federal levels, or due to precedent setting court rulings.
Description of Agenda Item Policy KB is titled Public Information Program.
MSBA proposes to amend the policy to reflect MSIP 6 standards and indicators. In addition, at the December Board meeting, it was expressed that effective communication should promote a climate of trust in all communication. The requested change was submitted to MSBA, who made the update to the draft policy.
The first reading of this policy revision took place on December 10, 2025. The policy revision is due for its second reading and adoption.
Recommendation Review and consider revised Policy KB: Public Information Program for a second reading and adoption.
Motion Move to adopt Policy KB: Public Information Program with the recommended changes.
