Mental Health - Approval of Service Provider December 10, 2025 Summary The Board of Education is asked to approve the service agreement with the Center for Mindfulness & CBT for providing mental health-related small group support for students in the School District of Clayton during the 2025-2026 school year.
Description of Agenda Item As part of the District’s strategic plan, Goal 3 outlines the District’s commitment to helping students grow in their social, emotional and physical well-being. The District is seeking to continue a relationship with an outside contracted service provider to support students’ evolving mental health needs onsite.
Background Information On September 22, 2021, the District solicited proposals from area providers to facilitate small group onsite support for students with a focus on mental health needs. More specifically, the small group support will focus on skill building associated with anxiety, depression, and coping with stress. The District has been collaborating with Center for Mindfulness & CBT since Fall 2021. The work also includes regular follow up with designated staff members regarding the caseload and case management for each building. The hourly rate for service is $85/hour with an estimated annual cost of $17,000.
This will mark the fifth year of this MOU and partnership. The District is collecting data to ensure that the program is effective and if the partnership should continue in the future.
Recommendation It is recommended that the Board approve the service agreement with the Center for Mindfulness & CBT.
