Page 1 of 1 Meal Pricing for the 2025-2026 School Year June 4, 2025

Summary In compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National School Lunch Program guidelines, the District is required to set student breakfast, lunch and milk prices each school year.

Description USDA guidelines require the use of the Paid Lunch Equity (PLE) tool to set meal pricing. The purpose of PLE is to adjust paid meal pricing to be more equal to USDA reimbursement rates. The PLE calculations have been prepared and meal pricing is proposed as:

2024-2025

2025-2026

Change

Milk $0.60 $0.50 $0.05

Student Breakfast $2.25 $2.35 $0.10

Adult Breakfast $2.70 $2.95 $0.25

Elementary Lunch $3.40 $3.50 $0.10

Secondary Lunch $3.65 $3.75 $0.10

Adult Lunch $4.70 $4.95 $0.25

Current USDA guidance: a district with a weighted average lunch price of less than $4.01 in 2024-2025 is required to adjust the weighted average lunch price by an inflation factor, but not more than ten cents. The District’s weighted average lunch price for 2024-2025 was $3.85. As a result, student lunch prices will increase by ten cents. Adult meal prices will increase by twenty-five cents.

The reduced breakfast price for qualifying students is $0.30, and the reduced lunch price for qualifying students is $0.40.

Recommendation The pricing presented for 2025-2026 is recommended for Board approval as presented.

Motion Breakfast, lunch and milk pricing for 2025-2026 is hereby approved as presented.
