Foster Care Transportation Cost Sharing MOU December 10, 2025
Summary The Board of Education is asked to approve the financial memorandum of understanding with the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children’s Division and School District of Clayton to allow for reimbursement of transportation expenses incurred by the school district in an effort to maintain a foster child in their school of origin.
Description of Agenda Item This agreement addresses reimbursement of transportation expenses incurred by the School District of Clayton for students in foster care.
Background Information The Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 requires that the parties collaborate to develop and implement procedures governing how transportation will be provided, arranged and funded to maintain children in foster care in their school of origin.
Recommendation It is recommended that the Board approve the transportation cost sharing agreement between the School District of Clayton, Children’s Division and Missouri Department of Social Services.
