1. Call to Order
Information, Procedural: 1.01 Statement of Adequate Notice 
The meeting of the Board of Education was called to order at 7:03 p.m. and was held at the administrative center boardroom at 2 Mark 
Twain Circle, Clayton, MO 63105  
2. Recognizing Our Own
Action, Information: 2.01 Inclusive Schools Week (December 6-10, 2021) 
That the Board of Education accept the Inclusive Schools Week Proclamation 
Motion by Stacy Siwak, second by Gary Pierson.

The Inclusive Schools Network has designated the week of December 6th-10th, as INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS WEEK; the first full week of 
December annually since 2001. This annual event was created to celebrate the progress schools have made toward providing a quality 
education for our increasingly diverse student population and those students marginalized due to disability, gender, socioeconomics 
status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors. 
Tonight we recognized Best Buddies - Willa Melander and Quinn DePlanty, Kate Pavlisin - SSD Instructional Coach, and Christina 
Blankenship - President, Clayton PAC.ED (absent).  
3. Superintendent Communications
Information: 3.01 Superintendent Communications 
Superintendent, Dr. Patel, provided an update to the community on topics such as first semester recaps, vaccine clinics held at our 
district and mitigating factors.

4. Student Representative to the Board 
Information: 4.01 Student Representative to the Board of Education - Update 
Aitana Rosas Linhard, Student Representative to the Board of Education, updated the board on the District Advisory Council for the 
middle schools. They discussed with the 7th-8th graders the health curriculum, conversations with administrators on topics, focus 
groups, school spirit, mental health breaks, and a recap of the end of the 1st semester. 
 
5. Audit 
Information: 5.01 Fiscal Year 2020-2021 District Audit 
Brian Wuertz, partner with the audit firm of Kerber, Eck and Braeckel, LLP provided the final report of the district financial audit for 
2020-2021. 
 
6. Action Item - Approval of Audit 
Action: 6.01 Approval of Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Audit 
That the Board of Education approve the fiscal year 2020-2021 Independent Auditor’s Report of the Financial Statements and Federal 
and State Programs as submitted.

7. Study Items 
Information: 7.01 Gifted Program Update 
Dr. Robyn Wiens, Assistant Superintendent Student Services, and Dr. Milena Garganigo, Assistant Superintendent Teaching and 
Learning, provided an update on the Gifted Program around Goal 2 of our strategic plan. 
 
The board members took a 5-minute break.  
 
Study: 7.02 Calendar Committee Update 
Chris Tennill, Chief Communications Officer, and Dr. Tony Arnold, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, provided an update to 
the board from the calendar committee. 
 
8. Action Items 
Action: 8.01 2nd Reading and Approval - Policy EBBA Illness and Injury Response and Prevention 
That the Board approve Policy EBBA - Illness and Injury Response and Prevention with the proposed changes.

That the Board of Education authorize the solicitation of bids for the second phase safety and building improvements that will take place 
during the summer of 2022 and authorize the release of committed funds for payment.

Action: 8.05 Safety And Security Improvements - Approval of Bid 
That the Board of Education approve the Sourcewell contract 030421-CTL with Convergint Technologies, LLC for Salient System Network 
Video Recorders at a total project cost including a 10% contingency of $595,236.59, authorize the release of committed funds for 
payment, and authorize administration to negotiate and enter into a contract for the same.

11. Board Communications 
Information: 11.01 Board Calendar, Committee, Community and Liaison Reports 
Stacy Siwak provided an update to the Wellness Committee and the Special School District Governing Council meeting. 
Joe Miller updated the board on the Board PLC meeting. It was decided that February 26th we will host an in-person event.
