Call to Order Business Meeting of the School District of Clayton Board of Education August 18, 2021 Meeting Minutes Central Office administrators present: Dr. Nisha Patel - Superintendent Dr. Tony Arnold - Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Milena Garganigo - Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Ms. Mary Jo Gruber - Chief Financial Officer Mr. Cameron Poole - Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer Mr. Jeff Puls - Chief Technology Officer Mr. Chris Tennill - Chief Communications Officer Dr. Robyn Wiens - Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Sandy Menchella - Executive Assistant to Superintendent/Board of Education Information, Procedural: 1.01 Statement of Adequate Notice The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. in the Administrative Building boardroom at #2 Mark Twain Circle, Clayton, MO 63105. 2. Recognizing Our Own Information: 2.01 Mayfair Recognitions Dr. Patel, superintendent, recognized our Years of Service employees. The in-person award ceremony had been cancelled due to the Covid Delta variant. 3. Superintendent Communications Information: 3.01 Superintendent Communications Superintendent, Dr. Nisha Patel, provided the first superintendent comments in her tenure. 4. Student Representative to the Board of Education Information: 4.01 Student Representative - Aitana Rosas Linhard Our Student Rep, Aitana Rosas Linhard, updated the Board on students who were previously learning remotely will now be returning back to school, mental health will be crucial this year, we need to foster sense of belonging, gender neutral bathrooms are being installed, and she will be reporting on all levels of schools with the Board. 5. Information Items Information: 5.01 Update on Safety/Security/Cybersecurity Mr. Chris Tennill, Chief Communications Officer, and Mr. Jeff Puls, Chief Technology Officer, presented an update on safety, security and cybersecurity in the district. Our School Resources Officers, Jack Boeger, Herman Whittaker, along with Mark Smith, Chief of Police, and Addam Jones and Chris DeWille from our technology department were recognized.
