These are the minutes of the City of Clayton Board of Aldermen meeting held June 28, 2016. Board of Aldermen City Hall – 10 N. Bemiston Avenue June 28, 2016 7:00 p.m. Minutes

Mayor Pro Tempore Garnholz called the meeting to order and requested a roll call. The following individuals were in attendance:

Aldermen: Mark Winings, Joanne Boulton, Rich Lintz, and Ira Berkowitz. Mayor Pro Tempore Garnholz City Manager Owens

Absent: Alex Berger III, Mayor Sanger, and City Attorney O’Keefe

Alderman Boulton moved to approve the June 14, 2016 minutes. Alderman Winings seconded. The motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously on a voice vote. PUBLIC REQUESTS AND PETITIONS

APPOINTMENT TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

City Manager Owens reported that William Liebermann, Ward 1 has been nominated to the Plan Commission/ARB. Alderman Winings moved to approve Mr. Liebermann’s appointment to the Plan Commission/ARB. Alderman Boulton seconded. The motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously on a voice vote. Other

Alderman Lintz and Berkowitz reported on the following:  The Clayton Century Foundation held its first Project Review Committee meeting. The Committee was formed to review the lists of projects (Century Garden, ice rink roof, DeMun Playground, etc) and prioritize. In following up on the joint CCF and BOA meeting they have stressed the importance of continuing dialog with the City; very productive.  The Sustainability Committee did not meet due to a lack of a quorum. Alderman Boulton reported on the following:  The Public Art Advisory Committee met and decided to update the Art Master Plan instead of redoing.

Alderman Boulton reported on the following:  The Public Art Advisory Committee met and decided to update the Art Master Plan instead of redoing. Jake Reby, PAAC chair, has connections to members of the St. Louis Art Museum Board and has been in discussion with them about displaying stored sculptures in different locations in the City of Clayton. They have offered three art pieces to be placed in Clayton and Patty DeForrest is working on possible locations. Mr. Reby is also in discussion with a member of the Board of Washington University’s Kemper Art Museum about also loaning sculpture pieces to the city.

06-28-16 BOA Minutes June 28, 2016 Page 2 of 2  Senior Survey – a letter inviting citizens to submit an application to be on the focus group has been sent out by OASIS and they have received their first application.

Mayor Pro Tempore Garnholz reported the following:  St. Louis Municipal League held their annual retreat and planning session last week. With her term ending with the League she encourages someone from the Board to take her place. The League has a new website encouraging cities to upload their list of activities. Clayton was pointed out as having an ongoing list full of activities.  Expressed congratulations to City Manager Owens on his son debuting in television episode of Mack & Moxie as “Trooper Charlie.”

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
