Board of Aldermen City Hall – 10 N. Bemiston Avenue March 24, 2015 7:05 p.m.

Minutes

Mayor Sanger called the meeting to order and requested a roll call. The following individuals were in attendance:

Aldermen: Michelle Harris, Cynthia Garnholz, Mark Winings, Joanne Boulton, Alex Berger III, and Richard Lintz.

Mayor Sanger City Manager Owens City Attorney O’Keefe

Alderman Winings moved to approve the March 10, 2015 minutes. Alderman Garnholz seconded.

The motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously on a voice vote.

SWEARING IN CEREMONY OF MATTHEW FRY AS THE CITY OF CLAYTON’S PROVISIONAL MUNICIPAL JUDGE

2014 PLANNING COMMISSION/ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD ANNUAL REPORT

A summary of the 2014 Planning Commission/Architectural Review Board (ARB) Annual Report was provided to the Board for tonight’s meeting. City Manager Owens briefly summarized the report.

In response to Alderman Lintz’s question, City Manager Owens explained the different responsibilities for the Planning Commission and Architectural Review Board. If there is a request for rezoning or a change in the site plan the Commission would consider. ARB review could be a change in an exterior structure or a small addition.

Mayor Sanger added that the City Manager has discretion to approve some requests administratively, usually small and inexpensive projects processed by the citizens.

Mayor Sanger commended staff on an excellent report.

Alderman Berger noted that this is the last meeting before the upcoming election and stated that his good friend Michelle Harris will feel the decision of term limits. He wanted to say thank you to Alderman Harris.

City Manager Owens reported that Susan Istenes provided the Board with an outline of the process for upcoming business (and meetings) that will be forthcoming before the Plan Commission/ARB and the Board of Aldermen.

Mayor Sanger commented that the Candidate Forum was very good and they had a nice crowd of about 100 people.

There being no further regular business the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
