June 4, 2026 — Meeting Transcript

This is a transcript of the City of Clayton Board of Adjustment meeting held June 4, 2026. It records roll call and introductions, consideration of minutes from March 5, public discussion of variance requests related to school building additions (including a requested ~13-foot 7.2-inch front-yard setback variance and a side-yard/30-foot setback issue), questions about outreach and legal authority when reviewing school projects, and procedural remarks from staff and counsel. The board received motions but none to approve the variances, so the applications failed, and the meeting was adjourned with a July 2, 2026 meeting noted.

The first item on the agenda for tonight's meeting is the approval of the minutes for the last meeting, which was held on March 5th. Are there any questions, comments, or corrections? I noted one, which was Anna Etzkorn's last name was misspelled. I think it's a Z instead of an S. If there are no other changes, is there a motion to approve? I move to approve the minutes of the March 5th meeting. A second? I second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Okay, we'll move on. The first item on the agenda for tonight's meeting, excuse me, that tonight we have two applications on the agenda. The first is an appeal from Tony Camacho is the applicant on behalf of Catherine and Jeff Yorg, who are the owners for the property located at 7401 Cromwell Drive. Are the applicants ready to go? Hold on for just a second. Come on forward if you'd like. Anyone wishing to speak either in favor or in opposition to the application needs to be sworn in. I'll ask Rebecca to swear and anybody who might want to make any comments. Okay, great. We'll start with Mr. City Attorney. Does the city have any exhibits to be offered for consideration? Yes, thank you, Mr. Chair. The city offers the following exhibits. Exhibit A, the Code of Orbitances of the City of Clayton and the Clayton Comprehensive Plan, excuse me. Exhibit B, the Zoning Review Application and Denial Letter from Hobie Croft, Planning Technician.
